Almost 8 months later, I picked up the impression that was made of Charlie's hand and foot yesterday. I had forgotten it was done and had left it sitting in the hospital gift shop. When I saw the tiny imprints, I was reminded of the goodness of God and His mercy upon me during the time of Charlie's unexpected early arrival. I wanted to share the Scripture that He gave to me as a sign that things were going to be OK. All I could do was cry out to Him and beg Him not to take our baby. To please have mercy on us and let things be alright. This is what He gave me:
Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.
offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.
Psalm 127

Our children are such a blessing! And such a beautiful gift from the Father. We need to keep in mind that our children belong to Him...we need to seek His wisdom daily for raising them. I tend to forget this.
Yes, unless we are living for God's purpose and following hard after him, its all in vain. Great verse! So awesome when we can find such amazing comfort in the words and arms of Jesus!
Absolutely beautiful Allison. What a lovely reminder of His faithfulness to His Children! Thank you for sharing this tender moment with us. :-)
Have a Blessed Day!
