One Body, One Mind

All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Acts 2:44

What denomination are you?  What do you believe about church leadership?  What about speaking in tongues and other giftings?  These are questions Christians ask each other.  Can I just suggest, what does it matter?  If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who came to this earth in the form of man, lived as a man, was crucified on the cross for our sins, rose from the grave in three days, and is seated at the right hand of the Father until He comes again--that is all you should need to know about another believer.  Everything else is relative.  Some of it is legalism, some fanaticism, but if your core belief is truth, then you are brothers and sisters in Christ-regardless.

I think most of the problem with the current church and her tendency to laziness is dissension among believers.  "We can't be associated with this group because they are charismatic"  or "We can't fellowship with those believers because they are a different color or culture".  Is that what Christ intended when He established the early church?  I think not.  Everyone lived together, shared everything, and were in agreement in all things.  We've just made up a bunch of rules and made 'church' and the body of Christ so much more difficult than it needs to be.

Our Church serving together remodeling a member's home

This weekend, our local women's ministry is joining together with other ladies, from different denominations, colors, ages and are putting on an event for the Beth Moore Simulcast.  The three ladies who've headed it up have made the statement of how easy it has been to work together.  No dissension, just serving Him and His girls.  This is how the church should be.  What a breath of fresh air to see God's people serving with love for the Kingdom.  I pray we see more of this in the coming days!

1 Corinthians 10:32
"Don't become a stumbling block to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God"
Love this post! I think us Christians sometimes stay busy throwing stumbling blocks out there for one another because of our differences! Let's quit tripping each other up and work together in unity for the uplifting of the kingdom of God!
So glad y'all could work together! What a testimony!

Amen! So many people get hung up on details. But Christ ask us to love him (for who HE is) and love each other. Love when people come together like this.

Amen Allison!

It's funny, but I think God's in another of His "broadcasting" modes at the moment... I've seen several posts along this line tonight, and the article I wrote earlier today was on a similar thread as well. I love it when He speaks to us so strongly, and on such an important message!

Have a Blessed Day!
