5 Minute Friday: FRIENDS

Joining up with Gypsy Mama again for 5 minute Friday.  A place where you write for 5 minutes with no editing, no researching, just writing.  This weeks topic:  Friends...

GO.

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.  Proverbs 18:24

Do you have a friend who'll stick with you no matter what?  If you were to fall into sin, a deep pit, will your friends stand by you?  If a calamity befell you, would they be by your side with just an arm of support?  Or would they be like Job's friends who had all the advice in the world on how to deal with a situation?

I'd imagine out of a group of friends, there would be one of each kind.  At the end of the day, there may be one or two still standing by your side, but then again, you may be left standing all alone.  As the verse above in Proverbs tells us, we can have a friend who sticks closer than a brother.  Jesus is our Friend through it all.  He will not forsake us.  He'd be the one to tell us we really shouldn't wear that certain color top with our hair color.  A real friend.

So if you find yourself in a situation where your earthly friends have all but deserted you, look up, He is still there.  He will be the One who'll hold you up and be your support no matter what.

STOP.

Your turn now.  Here's what you do:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Go a little overboard encouraging the writer who linked up before you.

Hi Allison,

I stopped by your blog this morning and am your newest follower! :)

Our friends are like the stars; we don't always see them, but we know they are always there! I am thankful for the friends that He has placed in my life, but most importantly for the rich and loving friendship I have with Him in my life! :)

Blessings and hugs,
Denise
