Thankful Thursday...

'Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.' Colossians 4:2

When is the last time you truly thanked your Father for all the gifts He has given to you?  Even if you don't feel thankful.  Especially when you think there is nothing in your life to be thankful for.  There is always something.  He gave you breath, an amazing earth-suit to travel this planet in, even if your suit succumbs to this sin-filled existence, it is still a remarkable thing.

Do you have a family?  If not an immediate one, a church community perhaps?  We all need someone to walk this life with.  He has blessed most of us, if not all, with community.  If we are not a part of one, I dare to say it is of our own doing.  My family is intertwined with my church family (the ones that live here anyway) and I can't imagine doing life without them.  We are a small unit, but we are intent on loving and serving one another the way He has directed us to.

What are you thankful for today?  I am continuing to count my one thousand gifts today:

#51 new teachers, WEE school friends for our Sam
#52  security of His presence, even when the earth shakes under my feet
#52 finding what was once lost (the dog we are watching for our friends)
#53  community
#54  medication to ease some of our Sam's issues
#55  keeping a shiny sink for one week now (a record at this house)
#56  sweet tea
#57  soccer for my oldest son and a hubby willing to coach a sport he knows NOTHING about
#58  a job where I don't get fired or fussed at when I turn my alarm clock off in the AM
#59  every breath I take in, every step my feet take
#60  His unfailing love for me
