5 Minute Friday

Linking up today with the Gypsy Mama and 5 minute Friday, where you take 5 minutes to write whatever comes to your mind about the topic of:  Older...

GO.

Each year that goes by, the boys in my life take one more step to becoming young men.  Time doesn't stand still just because this mama wants it to.  My boys are changing right before my eyes.  They get taller, features become more defined, new skills are learned, new friend are made.

The question becomes, what am I doing as their mama to develop their heart for God?  Are we doing enough?  Are we teaching them as the Lord instructed in Deuteronomy, to inscribe the Word of God on our doorposts?  More than safety and protection in this world, I want my boys to love Jesus with their whole hearts as they grow older.  I will have failed as a mama if this is not accomplished in their young lives.

With each day, hour, minute that passes my charges are one step closer to their eternal home.  I know one of my boys will be making his home with Jesus.  I pray the other two will follow.  What a blessing for us all to grow older, traveling this earthly pilgrimage, knowing we will be together with Him (and each other) in eternity.

STOP.

Let me encourage you to focus on the most important things with your sons: A love of God and of God's Word. If they love it, if they want to seek it for themselves, everything else will fall into place. I praise God for a mother who was there to lead me to Christ and taught me to love my Bible. Praying for you and your sons as you walk this road together.

What handsome young men you have! My hope is the same for my children. They are such a drive to be a better Christian!

Beautifully written, Allison. The greatest gift we can give our children is the love of Jesus. You are leaving a legacy for your sweet boys. Many blessings!

I agree with you Allison, nothing matters more than whether or not my little people love Jesus! I have one down and 2 to go as well :) Blessings!
