5 Minute Friday: Unexpected

Linking up with Gypsy Mama today for 5 minute Friday.  A place where you write on a specific topic for 5 unedited, unscripted minutes.  Today's topic is:  UNEXPECTED!

GO.
So many things come to mind with the word unexpected.  I don't hardly know where to start...

The adoption of our son, the miracles that took place along the journey...UNEXPECTED.

The birth of two sons, which we were told would never be...UNEXPECTED.

The path of a special needs child we walk everday....UNEXPECTED.

Cancer on both sides of our family, the loss of a mother so dear, the healing of a father...UNEXPECTED.

The grace we find in all we do, every step we take, each breath we draw...UNEXPECTED.

So much along the journey here has been unexpected.  Mostly, it all has.  It hasn't been what we've expected, but it has been what He planned.  Our unexpected has been His expected for us.

STOP.

  Now it's your turn:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Most importantly: leave a comment for the person who linked up before you – encouraging them in their writing!

It hasn't been what we expected, but it has been what God has planned. His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. We find peace when we remember that God is always in control and we can trust His plan. Love this 5 minute post, Allison!

The unexpected things of this life, usually end up being some of the most beautiful things of this life! Love that you have adopted AND been able to physically have children! After reading another 5 minute post today, I found this statement, and I LOVE it: "He keeps us in the cloud of the unexpected so all we have to expect is- more of Him." Have a blessed weekend, Allsion!

I like what Lisa said, it wasn't what we expected, but God knew. Great post.

Hi Allison - great post. You highlight how we think our lives will turn out and how the path and its turns are all 'unexpected' God bless

Ok, I'm taking the challenge. Check back with me tomorrow to see what I've come up with. Great idea, by the way. I need help with topics sometimes and this is a much needed kick in the hiney. Off I go!

God reveals Himself in the unexpected. When expectations are low, God's glory shines the brightest. Thank God for the beauty in unexpected moments like the ones you shared today!:)

Love that about God... most of our blessings are outside of what we imagine and completely "unexpected!"
