We had an awesome Christmas at any rate and I hope you all did too. I have to say that I thought I'd bought less for my kids this year, but judging from the stuff that is blocking my path I think I just kidded myself. But I am putting in writing right now...Next year I will not buy toys with small parts that need assembled and I will not buy so much stuff.
The new year is upon us and everyone seems to be talking about what is going to be different for them 'this year.' I can tell you that for me I want to declutter...my house and my life. I want to get rid of some stuff so we can walk easily and not have to move stuff around just to get to the stove so I can cook dinner. I also want to apply the same to my spiritual walk. I want to declutter everything else going on around me so I can see Him. I want to see what He has in store for me. I can't see clearly when I'm carrying all of my junk with me.
What's your resolution for the new year? To lose weight? Get out of debt? Eat healthier and exercise? Whatever they may be make sure you put Jesus in the mix too. Make Him part of your new year whether it be starting a bible study or just having a quiet time with Him...anything that puts Him in the center of your life!
Enjoy a few Christmas pics of my boys...

We came home from church yesterday and put everything Christmas away. It did look like Christmas blew through like a tornado! :)
For 2011 my goal is to spend more time in the Word and woshipping. I also want to work on my relationship with my 11yr old (he is very angry at times and it is a strain on our relationship). I am also, along with two sweet sisters, working on memorizing the book of James. Those are my goals! Praying I can stick to them.
I had 2 hours between the Christmas "unwrapping" and the family showing up for Christmas dinner. I just took down the extra table and table cloth today. Slowly it will all come back together :)
This year I just want to pursue Jesus harder and better, keeping my eye on the prize! Oh and I'm starting the One-Year bible and I'd really like to stick to it!
Allison, we're in the same boat. While we've made a little progress on clearing the Christmas carnage that was left behind, there's still quite a bit to do. Also like you, one of my big focuses for the coming year is to cast aside some of my spiritual "junk" and focus on letting Him into every part of my life more completely. Thank you for a wonderful post, and have a Blessed Day!
