It's a Brand New Day

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”   Luke 24:45-49

"I've just seen Jesus!"  "It's true, the Lord is alive!"  These are the voices of those who were witnesses of the unimaginable.  Can you fathom the excitement?  Beyond the shear miracle that had occurred, something even bigger was coming.  Jesus was getting ready to ascend to heaven and leave the Eleven for the final time.  But He promised them that something even better was coming.

What could be better than following a risen Savior?  I'm sure they couldn't imagine what it would be.  They didn't have to wait very long.  Jesus may have been leaving for a time, but He left them with the Holy Spirit.  The same Spirit also comes to dwell within us when we become Christ followers.  The third part of the trinity is living in you and me.  God is living inside us.  Wow.  The only thing better than that is going to be the day when I see Jesus face to face.

Until that day occurs, I desire to let His Spirit indwell my life to the point that I am no longer visible.  When others look at me, I want them to see Jesus.  I want people to say, "I've just seen Jesus in her life" or "It's true, the Lord is alive because I've seen Him in her."  What an honor.  Holy Spirit come and fill my life.  It's a brand new day.  The night has gone and morning is here!

I want this to be said of me too. So filled with Jesus that people see Him when they look at me. Come Holy Spirit!

Amen Allison! One of my most consistent prayers is that I can make the Holy Spirit within me so blatantly obvious, that I can't help but show it to those around me. :-)

Have a Blessed Day!

I love this "Until that day occurs, I desire to let His Spirit indwell my life to the point that I am no longer visible. When others look at me, I want them to see Jesus." I dont want my life to be explainable without the Holy Spirit! Great post!
